James Allen Bass
Beloved husband, father, and Papa, James Allen Bass passed peacefully away Friday, October 7, 2022 at home in the loving care of his wife.
Memorialization will be by cremation. No service will be held at this time. The family will be receiving friends at the Bass residence for those who want to pay their respects.
James was born in Crenshaw County on June 6, 1953 to the late Bernell and Grace Bass. He was a long time employee of Nasco Equipment in Elba. He retired in 2013 and spent the rest of his life dedicated to spending quality time with his wife and family. Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Marcilla Bass, and brother, Richard Bass.
Survivors include the love of his life and best friend, his wife of 25 years, Christie Bass; daughter, Pepper Simonds (Kevin); son, Jearl McNeal, Jr. (Corey); sisters, Hazel Bass, Sue Posey, Dani Garner, Lilly Oakley (Edward), and Mary Bordeaux; brother, John Bass (Wanda) and Bobby Joe Bass; grandchildren, Jamie Bannin (Sherry), Tasha Pippin (Jeffrey), Katrianna Angelino, Justice McNeal, Evi McNeal, and Caleb Smith (Dakota); great-grandchildren Landan King, Dixie DeBoer, Lochlan Woodruff, Collin Smith, Dayne Bannin, Riley Bannin, and Kohl Pippin; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and also special family members that adopted him as their "Paw Paw."
He was such a great man, wise and always gave the best advice. The world lost a wonderful man, a great loss to all who loved him and to those who never had the privilege and honor of knowing him.
