- C. Leo Bass
CREVE COEUR ? C. Leo Bass, 76, of 708 S. Stewart St., died at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
Born June 27, 1909, in Keyesport to Clarence C. and Lola Chitwood Bass, he married Dorothy Whitney on Feb. 1, 1946 in Springfield.
He worked at the ABC Washington Machine Co. for 28 years, then at the Armitage Machine Shop in Bartonville for 22 years before retiring in 1982.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Diener of Des Plaines; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one step-brothers, Lester Lightbody of Las Vegas, Nev.; and one stepsister, Mrs. Willard (Faye) lacey of Bath. One son and two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, 405 Rusche St., where services will be at 1 p.m. Monday. The Rev. John Willis will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
