Maie Bell Bass Pierce
CLINTON ? Mrs. Maie Bell Bass Pierce, 84, of 213 Forest Trail, formerly of Magnolia, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home Chapel in Clinton with the Rev. Ray Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Memorial Park in Clinton.
Mrs. Pierce, born in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Jenkins Bass and Myria Mare-Ree Wilkins Bass, and she was the widow of Dock Bass. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Willie Albert Pierce. She was a retired sewing machine operator and a member of Faith Independent Baptist Church. Nine brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
She is survived by her children, Sandra Knowles of Magnolia, Mary "M. J." Millman and husband, Robert of Richmond, Va., Diane Roberts and husband, Royce of Dudley, Henry David Bass and partner Jane of Clinton, and Juanita Wowra of Magnolia; three sisters, Alease Sanders of Rolesville, Jean Harmon of Richmond, Va., and Judy Rich of Clinton; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 1, at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home and other times at 270 Tracy Brown Road, Magnolia.
