Carol grew up near Lynchburg, Virginia, where she attended New London Academy. She went on to graduate from Lynchburg College. Her early life was marked by resilience, having had polio as a child and spending time in Warm Springs, Georgia, for treatment.
Throughout her career, Carol worked in doctors' offices for several years, contributing to the well-being of her community with dedication and care.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, Bill Bass, son, Jeff Miles, and brother, John Hicks. Her family was a source of great joy and pride to her.
In her personal life, Carol enjoyed knitting, a hobby that brought her much peace and satisfaction.
