Leora Bass Pickett
Mrs. Leora Bass Pickett, 81, of Greensburg, KY, departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill. She was 81 years and six days of age.
The funeral services for Mrs. Leora Bass Pickett will be conducted at 11amCT, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with a private burial committal to follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery in Green County. Rev. Dale Curry and Rev. Charlie Taylor will be officiating. There will be a public Graveside-Memorial Prayer Service held at 7pmCT, Saturday evening at the Ebenezer Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Brian Pickett, Jarrett McConnico, Andy Bass, Junior Kessler, Bradley Jones, and Larry Bloyd.
Honorary pallbearers: Lesa Bradshaw, Lauren Matney, Lindsay Landis, Michelle Pickett, Laura Pickett, and Kimber Matney.
Mrs. Leora Bass Pickett, Greensburg, KY (1930-2011)
Mrs. Leora Bass Pickett was was born on Wednesday, May 7, 1930 in Green Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Robert Conley Bass and MaLissia Elizabeth Leora Smith Bass. She departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Greensburg, Green Co., KY. She was 81 years and six days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was a former clerk for Mitchell and Edwards Clothing Store, Past President and member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 124, Co-founder of the Charity Bingo, and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She united in marriage to William A. Pickett on March 15, 1950 who survives.

A daughter: Janie Flood of Greensburg, KY
A son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Sherry Pickett of Omaha, NE
Four grandchildren: Lauren Matney and her husband Brian, Lindsay Landis and her husband Jeff all of Greensburg, KY; Michelle Pickett and Laura Pickett both of Nebraska
Three great-grandchildren: Mia Landis and Abbey Landis both of Greensburg, KY; and Kimber Matney of Campbellsville, KY
A sister and brother-in-law: Nell and Bill Bradshaw of Greensburg, KY
A brother: Eugene "Fireball" Bass of Illinois
And a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Pickett was also preceded in death by a son: William Allen "Buddy" Pickett, a son-in-law: John Flood; and a daughter-in-law: Jill Pickett.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Hosparus of Central Kentucky, which can be made at the funeral home.
