Funeral services were conducted in the Butcher Funeral Home. Mr. Bassett died at the home of his brother, Frank Bassett, in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was visiting. Although he had been in ill health, his death was unexpected. Mr. Bassett was a member of the Noblesville Baptist church. Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Anna Bassett; the brother; a stepson, Earle White, Washington, D.C., and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a son and daughter.
