      Chester E. Provost

      HOLYOKE – Chester E. Provost, 76, of 152 High St., a retired salesman at Wernick Furniture Co., died yesterday in the Holyoke Soliders’ Home. Born in New York, he had lived Holyoke 65 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. His wife, the former Viola M. Bessette, died in 1980. He leaves two sons, Chester R. of Ashfield and Robert R. of Goshen, N.Y.; a daughter June Yates of Holyoke; a brother, Roger of Los Angeles; a sister, Doris Hebert of Dennis; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday morning at Arthur J. Brunelle Funeral Home, Willimansett, and in the church with burial in Notre Dam Cemetery, South Hadley.

      Miss Viola Bessette Weds Chester Provost

      Holyoke, Nov. 3 – Miss Viola Bessette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodolph Bessette of 101 Lyman street, became the bride of Chester Provost, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Provost of 42 North East street, this morning in the Immaculate Conception church at 8. Rev. M.J. Ginet, pastor, performed the ceremony, using the single-ring service.
      The fathers attended the couple. The bride wore a gown of white satin with veil arranged in bonnet effect, caught with orange blossoms. She carried a bridal bouquet of roses in shower effect.
      The ceremony was followed by a reception at the home of the bride’s parents. Assisting with receiving the guests are the bride’s mother, who wore a figured blue silk dress, and Mrs. Provost, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a brown silk dress.
      When Mr. and Mrs. Provost left for a wedding trip to New York city, the bride wore a brown outfit.
      The bride was born in this city and attended the Immaculate Conception schools. Mr. Provost was born in Ausable, N.Y., and was educated in the Immaculate Conception schools here. He is employed at the Furniture Finish store in Northampton.
      Guests from New York, Three Rivers, Springfield and Canada attended the wedding.
