Gloria Jane Bass, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was born on February 10, 1935, in Leigh, Nebraska, to Theodore Adolph Wilhelm Kollmorgen and Dorothea Marie Rex Kollmorgen.
Gloria embraced her Lutheran faith from a young age and lived her life with quiet strength, grace, and compassion. She shared a special and rare bond with her sisters?each born on the same day, February 10, though in different years?a connection that was a treasured part of her life story.
Gloria had a passion for baking and was known for her extraordinary pies and desserts, which she lovingly made for family and friends. She also had a wonderful sense of style and always took pride in presenting herself beautifully?elegant, poised, and radiant, reflecting the warmth and beauty she carried within.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially spending time with her family. Her love and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the heart of her world. She also enjoyed playing tennis throughout her life, a pastime that brought her both fun and fulfillment.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Darlene Joy Oerman (and her husband Merle), and Gaylia June Hamilton (and her husband Robert).
Gloria is survived by her husband, Jerry Alfred Bass; three children: Carla Sherman (Robert), Cameron Bass, and Corrie Bass; her brother, Rex Theodore Kollmorgen (Sandra); nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Seaside Chapel, followed by a memorial service celebrating Gloria?s life at 11:00 a.m.
Gloria?s warmth, elegance, and loving spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
