Johnnie Bass
Funeral services for Deacon Johnnie Bass will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20, 1996, at Bethelder Baptist Church in Rosharon, Texas, with Reverend O. Palmer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Houston Memorial Garden in Houston, Texas.
He passed away Tuesday, January 16, 1996, at I.H.S Hospital in Houston.
Friends may call from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, January 19, 1996, at Gardner Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas.
He was a faithful member and deacon of Bethelder Baptist Church.
Survivors include: seven daughters and sons-in-law; Luvertia Gibbs of Houston; Mildred and Leo Mathews of Arcola; Mary Bass, Viola and Virgil Calvin, and Gloria J. and Sammie Shelton, all of Phoenix, Arizona; Virginia Banks of Bay City and Willie Mae and Rhode Tyrone of Kenedy; seven sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory E. and Mary Ann Bass and Charles and Willie Mae Bass, both of Houston; George S. Bass and Elxander C. Bass of Rosharon; Lee Andrew, Sr., and Linda Bass and Samuel Sr. and Katherine Bass of Angleton; Frank Lee and Emmie Bass of North Carolina; 55 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers: Harry Basnk, Rhode Tyrone, Jr., John L. Gibbs, Christopher Mathews, Charles Bass, Jr., Johnny Bass, O’Daniel Bass, Samuel Bass, Jr. and William Bass.
