James Bass
FRANKLIN ? James Bass, 80, of Franklin, died March 29, 2011, at a Franklin nursing home.
The Warren County native worked at Kendall Co. and retired from the city of Franklin/Greenlawn Cemetery. He was a Marine veteran. He was a son of the late Joe P. Bass and Julia Bryant Bass and was the husband of the late Christine Goodnight Bass. He was preceded in death by three children, Karen Payne, Pamela Bass and Henry Bass; and a sister, Ethel Sloss.
Funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Alpha Baptist Church in Franklin, with burial in the Veterans Section of Greenlawn Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home, and continues at noon at the church.
Survivors include three sons, James Bass of Nashville and Jeff and Charles Bass, both of Franklin; six daughters, Harriet Woods of Nashville and Bettye Bryant, Veronica McKay, Carolyn Bass, Cristal Bass and Julia Bass, all of Franklin; two brothers, Jeff Downey of Louisville and Charles Whiteside of Detroit; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
