Ethel Levine, Milton Bass Are Married
The wedding of Miss Ethel Levine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Levin, and Milton Bass, United States Naval Reserve, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Bass, of this city, took place Sunday at 7:30 p.m., at Temple Beth-El. Rabbi Nathan Kollin officiated.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a dress of magnolia satin, fashioned with marquisette yoke trimmed with seed peals; basque waist, with skirt shirred at the hip line and falling into a long train. Her full length veil of illusion bordered with heirloom lace fell from a tiara of matching lace studded with seed pearls. She carried a paryer book decorated with white orchids.
Miss Esther Goldfarb, of Richmond, was maid of honor. She wore a dress in American Beauty taffeta, fashioned with a V-neck line, sleeves below the elbow with skirt shirred on to basque waist.
Little Miss Roberta Levine, sister of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. The bridesmaids were Mrs. S.L. Elfmon and Mrs. Bernard Fleishman, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Miss Annette Rubenstin, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Miss Harriet Lewis of Richmond. They wore dresses in waltz blue.
The attendants carried lights cathedral candles entwined with flowers and wore tiaras of the same flowers.

Ethel Levine Bass
Ethel Levine Bass, 84, of Richmond, died Wednesday, January 3, 2007. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Milton Bass; daughter, Stephanie Wishnack of Richmond and her husband, Marshall; son, Howard Bass of Beersheva, Israel and his wife, Randi; daughter, Robin Bass of Boston; and daughter, Wendy Spiro of Atlanta and her husband, Jan; grandchildren, Suzanne Morris, Josh Wishnack, Tamar, Rotem, Evan and Tal Bass, Tim, Lindsay and Jordan Urban; and great-grandchildren, Ramsey and Georgia Morris, and Charlotte and John Wishnack. She was predeceased by her sister, Roberta Cohen. Born in Toronto, Canada, Ethel was raised in Richmond. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and Westhampton College, Class of '42. She received a graduate degree in medical technology from MCV and a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from VCU, where she served on the adjunct faculty. She worked as the volunteer coordinator at St. John's Alcohol Treatment Center. After becoming legally blind from macular degeneration, she founded a support group for visually-impaired residents at Cedarfield. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Avenue. Private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Library and Resource Center, Department for the Blind, 395 Azalea Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23227 or the Cedarfield Angel Fund, 2300 Cedarfield Parkway, Richmond, Virginia 23233.
