James H. Bass
LANCASTER ? James Henry Bass, 71, died Wednesday.
Born in Kershaw County, he was a son of the late Ellie and Mammie Cook Bass.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Thelma K. Bass; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Calvert of Charlotte, Mrs. Gladys McAteer of Fort Mill and Mrs. Betsy Williams of Rock Hill; two sons, Henry Bass Jr. of Chicago, Ill., and William Bass of Rock Hill; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Boone, Mrs. Emma Boone and Mrs. Cora Collins of Camden; two brothers, Doy Bass of Kershaw and William Bass of Lancaster; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Hazel Taylor of Lancaster, Mrs. Lucille Kellams and Mrs. Betty Ritchie of Beaumont, Texas; a stepson, Jack Kennington of Gulfport, miss., and several grandchildren.
Services will be 4 p.m. today at the Cauthen Funeral Home, with burial in the Lancaster Memorial Park.

LANCASTER ? James Henry Bass, 71, 14 W. Brooklyn Ave., died Wednesday at his home.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Cauthen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kelley Burris officiating and the Rev. J.B. Strange assisting. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park.
Among survivors are his wife, Mrs. Thelma Bass of Lancaster; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys McAteer of Fort Mill, Mrs. Betsy Williams of Rock Hill; a son, William Bass of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends form 7 to 9 tonight at Cauthen Funeral Home in Lancaster.
