- Orpha Marie Bass
On February 14, 2012, God displayed his love, wisdom, and mercy and took Orpha to spend Valentine's Day with her husband on Heaven's Streets. Orpha was a member of the Skelton Freewill Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Mike Bass and wife, Dawn, of Crab Orchard; three granddaughters, Susan Stover and husband, Eric, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Erin Bass and Anne Bass, both of Crab Orchard; and two great-grandchildren, Mia Stover and Nolan Stover of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and her very dear friend and our angel, Linda Spratt. She was much loved and will be missed by all. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley, with Dr. Michael Sisson officiating. Following the services Orpha will be laid to rest beside her husband at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Friends may gather with the family from 1 p.m. until time of the service Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Orpha's honor to the local chapter of the Salvation Army.
