GORDON REGINALD BASSETT JUNE 4, 1955 ? OCTOBER 21, 2021 Surrounded with the love of his family, Gordon Reginald Bassett of Tillsonburg, formerly of Simcoe, at VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Thursday October 21, 2021 passed away at the age of 66 years. Loving, compassionate and devoted husband to Brenda (nee Sherwood) of 42 years. Devoted father to Christine Bassett and her husband Marco Floreani; Gordon Bassett and his partner Sara Dorish; Melissa Ricker and her husband Cameron. Proud Papa to William Ricker. Brother to Joanne Jamieson and her husband Gord. Loving son to Olga Bassett and his late father Reg. Brother-in-law to Ken Sherwood, Robert Sherwood, Paul Sherwood and Karen McKenney. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by mother-in-law, Barbara Sherwood. Lifelong active band member with Salvation Army, Simcoe. Gord was a caretaker of family and friends, with a huge heart, he was always showing kindness and care for other people. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and his Massey-Ferguson Tractor. Visitation will be held at Ostrander?s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 on Tuesday October 26, 2021 from 2:00pm ? 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Guests are asked to register online on Gordon?s tribute page using the RSVP button or by calling the funeral home for a time spot. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. A private funeral service for Gordon will be held at Ostrander?s Funeral Home, Tillsonburg. Interment will be at Walsh United Cemetery.
