Harry L. Bassett
Harry L. Bassett, 50, of 206 Oak Grove Avenue died Friday in Walter Reed Hospital, Washington, D.C. He was born in Lakaw, Missouri, January 26, 1919 and had been a resident of this city for the past 16 years. A retired technical sergeant in the Air Force in which he served for 22 years, Bassett was formerly stationed at Westover Air Force Base, Chicopee Falls. He was employed at the Massachusettts Mutual Life Insurance Company for the past six years. He is survived by his wife, Madeline (Johnson) Bassett; four sons, Charles, Carl, Harry, Jr. and Kevin, at home; a daughter, Miss Linda Howard, also at home; two brothers, Chester and Harold Bassett of Peoria, Illinois; and two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Williams of Hannibal, Missouri, and Mrs. Oneida Harris of Peoria. Henderson funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
