      Ramona B. (Boucher) Bessette-Bruley

      FAIRFAX - Ramona B. (Boucher) Bessette-Bruley, 61, passed away Oct. 31, 2003, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 11, 1942, in St. Albans, daughter of J. Maurice Boucher and the late Goldie (Ward) Boucher. Ramona graduated from Bellows Free Academy-Fairfax, Class of 1960. She earned her associate's degree in secretarial sciences in 1997 from Community College of Vermont. Ramona loved to knit, play bingo, and Atlantic City and gambling. Some of her most enjoyable times were spent watching Monday night wrestling and watching baseball with her dad. Her family lovingly nicknamed her "Squeak". The family will miss her favorite saying, "We'll play it by ear". Her favorite food was macaroni and cheese with tomatoes, which was a dish her family always looked forward to. Ramona will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by three sons, Andrew Bessette and his wife, Kathy, of Fairfax, Dale Besette and his wife, Priscilla, of Fairfax, and David Bruley Jr. and his girlfriend, Melissa Ritchie, of Milton; two daughters, Bernadette Bessette-Boucher and her husband, Edward, of Fairfax, and Lori Pudvah of Fairfax; her father, J. Maurice Boucher of Fairfax; four brothers, Peter Boucher and his wife, Jean, of California, Paul Boucher and his wife, Doreen, of South Carolina, Michael Boucher of Fairfax, and Ronald Boucher and his wife, Brenda, of Swanton; three sisters, Mary Skillen and her husband, Kenneth, of Springfield, Kathleen Sargent and her husband, Norman, of Brattleboro, and Linda McGraw and her husband, Lawrence IV, of Swanton; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, Amy, Chelsea, Kourtney, Dakota, Skyler, Kodie and Desire; three stepgrandchildren, Vincent, Michelle and Christopher Boucher; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visiting hours will be held at the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home in Fairfax on Monday, Nov. 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a wake service offered by the Rev. Douglas Hawkins at 7:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Nov 4, at 11 a.m. in St. Luke Catholic Church in Fairfax by the Rev. Douglas Hawkins. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Luke's Cemetery in Fairfax. Contributions may be made in Ramona's memory to The American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Division, 11 Loomis St., Montpelier, Vt. 05602.
