Vincent S. Galanek
Vincent S. Galanek, age 58, of Shelton, died on Friday, April 23, 2004, at his home. Born in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Wenceslaus and Alice Bassett Galanek. A resident of Bridgeport for most of his life, he moved to Shelton 24 years ago. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the Army as a Specialist 5th Class. A conscientious and dependable test technician at Fermont, he worked there for more than 34 years, and was a member of their Quarter Century Club. Survivors include his three brothers, David Galanek of Shelton, Charles Galanek and his wife, Mary, of Stratford, and James Galanek and his wife, Betty, of Danbury; a sister-in-law, Judith Galanek of Bridgeport; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Alexander Galanek. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church. Immediately following, interment at St. John5s Cemetery, Stratford, with full military honors. Calling hours on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Commerce Hill-Radozycki Funeral Home, 4798 Main Street, Bridgeport (on the Trumbull line).
