A lifelong resident, Al worked for Heim Universal for more than 15 years, and the Bridgeport Brass Co. for five years as a machinist. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Judith, are his children, Thomas, Debra and Denise Galanek, all of Bridgeport; four brothers, David and Vincent Galanek of Shelton, Charles Galanek of Stratford, and James Galanek of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.
