John Douglas Hunter
Carrollton - John D. Hunter, 73, died at 1:05 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2002, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 9, 1929, in Brighton to John D. and Annie (Breitweiser) Hunter.
He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, April Walton of Sentinel, Oklahoma, and Della and her husband, Mark Bassett of Sayre, Oklahoma.; four sons, Jeff and his wife, Sandra, Hunter of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Dan and his wife, Sheila, Hunter of Sayre, Jason Hunter of Sayre and Jacob Hunter of Canute, Oklahoma.; three step-daughters and their spouses, Peggy and Brad Wagner of Godfrey, Becky and William Stewart of Bethalto and Susan and Terry McMaster of Carter, Oklahoma.; several grandchildren; two sisters, Philomena and her husband, Lester, Goheen of Dow and Isabelle Dabbs of Tyler, Texas; his guardian, Gordon and his wife, Linda Dabbs of Brighton; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. Monday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton.
Burial will be at Carrollton City Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
