Luke William Bassett, 32, of Aberdeen, died Sunday, June 16, 2013
Born Jan. 29, 1981, in Holyoke, Mass., he moved to North Carolina in 2005 and resided in Aberdeen. He was in the business of vinyl siding, but his passion was jewelry making.
He will be missed by his parents, Joanne and David Horak; sister, Vanessa and her sons, Xavion and Tavin; step-siblings, Nicole and her husband, Eric, and their children, Eric, Sadie and Constant; Jenny and her son, Mark Anthony; biological father, George Biathrow and his wife, Michelle, and their daughter, Odessa; aunts, uncles, and cousins; Anna and Roger Eddy and their children, Alyssa and Kevin; Merlon and Maryann and their children, Chris and Rachel; Jim and Nell and children, Michael and Marielle; David and Gail and their children, Tyler and Zachary; godparents, Gregory (Darlene) and Jane and their children, Jason, Chad and Ryan; great-aunt Fabiola and the entire Vega family and his family in Ecuador; grandparents, Fred and Lois Horak; best friends, Leah, Andy and Jason; girlfriend, Rosemary and her son, Cooper; and many, many friends who loved his loving, kind and generous heart. Luke is in heaven in the loving arms of his grandparents, Merlon and Beatrice Bassett.
A celebration of Luke’s life will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hall’s Memorial Church, 3612 Union Church Road, Vass, which will be used for poor children in Ecuador.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, which will be used for poor children in Ecuador, may be made to BB& T –Vass in person or c/o Memorial- Luke Bassett, P.O. Box 9 Vass, NC 28394.
