Rouge Plant, was to be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in Sweetest Heart of Mary Church, 4440 Russell, in Detroit. Mr. Bessette, 76, of Beverly Hills died after a long illness on Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, in Autumn Woods Health Care Facility in Warren. Mr. Bessette was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and moved to Detroit with his family when he was in elementary school. He graduated from Cass Tech High School in Detroit. After high school, he joined the Army and served in Europe in World War II. He worked for Ford for 30 years and retired in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve; two daughters, Catherine Hafeli and Peggy Schusterbauer; a son, Stephen, a sister and six grandchildren.
