Holman C. Bass
HOLMAN CD. Bass (Manteca) ? Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at P.L. Fry and Son Funeral Home for Holman C. Bass, 75 who died Sunday in a Manteca convalescent hospital following a short illness.
Entombment services will be held Thursday in Tennessee.
A native of Mississippi, Mr. Bass had lived in Manteca 13 years. He retired form Civil Service after 28 years of foreign duty as a warehouse man.
As a young man he played professional baseball for the House of David and while with the club was one of the first to play under stadium lights. Mr. Bass also was a scout for the Boston Red Sox. He wsa a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Ellen Jo Stout of Colorado; one brother; two sisters, including Johnnye Moore of Manteca, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
