      Bassett-Turner Ceremony in Paris Church Of Christ

      Miss Linda Carol Bassett became the bride of Tommy C. Turner Saturday at Paris, Tex., in the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ with Elemer L?Roy, minister, reading the vows.
      Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Bassett Jr. of Paris. Sherriff and Mrs. C.P. Turner, 333 Allen St., are parents of the bridegroom.
      The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a floor-length gown of gardenia white skinner satin. The bodice of the gown was al Alencon lace, fashioned with a Sabrina neckline and tapered to long sleeves ending ni points over the hands.
      Her veil of imported silk illusion fell to her fingertips and she wore a single strand of pearls. She carried a bouquet of French carnations and sweetheart roses centered with a white orchid.
      Miss Diann L?Roy was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Misses Judy Swofford, Alice McWhirter, and Sheila Stell, all of Paris. Miss Nancy Kim Turner of Odessa, niece of the groom, was flower groom.
      James Taylor of San Angelo served as best man. Groomsmen were David Hughes of San Angelo, Don Wilmeth of Tyler, and Bill Eagon of Paris. Ushers were Jimmy Bassett and Bill Castleberry of Paris, and Grover Pickering of Cooper. Garry Bassett, brother of the bride, served as ring bearer.
      An A Cappella octet composed of Mrs. John Welch, Mrs. Edmond Castleberry, Mrs. Arthur Cawthon, Mrs. Dick Dalzell, Bill Castleberry, Bob Staples, Dick Dalzell, and Glenn Lowe provided the traditional wedding music.
      The bride is a graduate of Paris High School and is a junior at Abilene Christian College where she is a member of the Campus Service Organization, the Inpsyders, and the A Cappella Choir.
      Mr. Turner was graduated from San Angelo Central High School, San Angelo College, and Abilene Christian College.
      At ACC, he was a member of ?A? Club, th Blue Key National Honor Fraternity, Who?s Who in American Colleges and Universities, Melpomenean Players, A Cappella quartet, president of the Inpsyders, and vice president of the A Cappella Choir. He is presently employed at Hemphill-Wells in San Angelo.
      The rehearsal dinner was held Friday night at the Embers. The head table was decorated with an arrangement of flamingo and white gladioli, carrying out the bride?s chosen colors. Attendants were presented with gifts by the bride and groom. Places were marked for 30 guests.
