Loretta Marie Bessette, 1919-2008
GRANBY – Loretta Marie (Bousquet) Bessette, 89, former longtime resident of Granby, died Monday, September 22 at her daughter’s home in Montague. Born in West Springfield, MA on June 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elmira (Dubois) Bousquet. She attended schools in Gilbertville and Holyoke, MA and had worked in Livingstone and Holyoke Worsted Mills until 1944. Loretta was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby, MA. Her husband, S/Msgt. Albert R. Bessette, died in 2003. She is survived by her 4 daughters, Donna M. Zimmer of Voorhees, NJ, Annelle E. Majeran of Chicopee, MA., E. Robin Merritt of Bowie, MD and presently Jakarta, Indonesia and Lori A. Howe of Montague, MA., 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Arthur O. Bousquet and Anita (Bousquet) Willferth are both deceased. A graveside service will be Thursday September 25 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Gilbertville. Beers and Story Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
