Blanche M. Bessette, 81
PUTNAM ? Blanche M. (Cote) Bessette, 81, of Ella Grasso Apartments, Balout Street, died yesterday in Day Kimball Hospital.
Her husband, Joseph U. Bessette, died in 1975.
She leaves three sons, Adrian J. Bessette of Putnam, George H. Bessette of Fall River and Richard J. Bessette of Fort Myers, Fla.; three daughters, Rita A. Bessette of Noank, Conn., Claire J., wife of Gerald St. Jean of Putnam, and Alice Coderre of Grosvenordale; a brother, George Cote of Fall River; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bessette was a communicant of St. Mary of the Visitation Church.
She was born in Cranston, R.I., daughter of John and Anna (Dussault) Cote, and lived 30 years in Connecticut.
The funeral will be held tomorrow from Gilman Funeral Homes, 104 Church St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Visitation Church, 148 Providence St. Burial will be in St. Joseph?s Cemetery, North Grosvenor Dale.
Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
The family requests that flowers be omitted. Contributions may be made instead to the Intensive Care Unit Memorial Fund, Day Kimball Hospital, Pomfret Street, Putnam, Conn. 06260.
