Joseph Bessette
THOMPSON, Conn. ? Joseph U. Bessette, 75 of Route 193, died yesterday at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam.
He was the husband of Blancher (Cote) Bessette.
Besides his widow, he leaves three sons, Adiran Bessette of Putnam, Conn., George Bessette of Fall River and Richard Bessette of Hampton Va.; three daughters, Rita, wife of Walter Johnson of Noank, Conn., Claire, wife of Gerald, St. Jean of Putnam and Alice, wife of Norman Coderre of Thompson, Conn.; a brother, Alfred Bessette of Warren, R.I.; and a sister, Sister Alma Delude of South Attleboro, 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bessette was an overseer for the former Cluelt Peabody Mills, Inc. for many years.
He was a member of the Golden Harvest Senior Citizen?s Club in North Grosvenor Dale and a former member of La Societe de St. Jean-Baptiste.
He was born in Waterbury, Conn., a son of Uldric and Celina (Duso) Bessette.
The funeral will be held tomorrow from the Valade Funeral Home, 202 Main St., North Grosvenor Dale with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph?s Church, Main Street, North Grosvenor Dale. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
