Emogene Bass Drummond

Emogene Bass Drummond, 89, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at her home.
Emogene was born on May 4, 1936 in Bladenboro, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thurmond Bass and Nellie Brisson Bass Gooden.
Emogene enjoyed planting flowers and taking care of the birds, especially hummingbirds.
Survivors include her husband, James Harry Drummond; two daughters Joy Smith and husband Lane of Brandon MS and Kimberly McCabe and husband Thomas of Greenville SC; son James C. Starr of Conway SC; five grandchildren, Hunter Stark, Colby Stark, Brooke Everett, Jason McCabe and Shannon McCabe; 6 great grandchildren; a nephew, Joseph Gooden of Buford GA and niece, Tara Ferris of Winston Salem NC. She also leaves behind her cherished cat, Cat Tail and several in-laws and friends who will miss her greatly.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 1:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetery.
