Pearl R. Bessette Gibson
St. Albans – Pearl R. Bessette Gibson, 91, a lifelong area resident, passed away late Sunday, Aug. 6, 2006, at Brownway Residence in Enosburg. She as born in Sheldon, Vt., on June 15, 1915, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Cooper) Raymond. On Jan. 23, 1942, she married Ovila A. Bessette, who predeceased her on Aug. 5, 1972. Pearl was married to her second husband, George Gibson on Nov. 14, 1977, and her predeceased her in 2001.
Pearl was employed for many years at the former Fonda Container Corporation. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Survivors include her nephews, Robert Renaudette and his wife, Sandra of Swanton, Vt., Leon Raymond Jr. and his wife, Isabelle of Bradford, Vt., Leo Renaudette and his wife, Nancy of Canaan, Vt., and Donald Renaudette of Winterhaven, Calif., her nieces, Rita Ungor and her husband, Louis of Lauderhill, Fla., Lois Partington and her husband, Alan of Attleboro, Mass., and Betty Renaudette of Swanton, Vt., Ann Marshall and Elaine Ellis, both of Massachusetts; and several grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Pearl was predeceased by her brother, Leo Raymond and his wife, Mildred; and her two sisters and their husbands, Gertrude & John Coyle and Loretta & Raymond Renaudette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2006, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Fairfield Street with the Reverend Leonidas B. Laroche as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Louis Cemetery in Highgate. Pearl’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans.
