Wayne ?Pete? Hollandworth
Wayne "Pete" Hollandworth, age 63, of OKC, passed away June 27, 2008 in OKC. He was born Jan 18, 1945 in Hays, KS to Earl and Hazel Hollandworth of Gorham, KS. He grew up in Gorham, KS were he graduated from Gorham High School in 1963 and played in the rock band The Hurricanes. In 1968, he married Nina Bassett who lived in Russell, KS. Pete had a twenty year career in the army that included service in the Viet Nam War and five additional tours of duty overseas. He was an admin and legal specialist in the army and earned several honors including a purple heart and a meritorious service medal. Pete loved wood working, riding his Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, listening to Golden Oldies, drawing, and playing Santa in people's homes every Christmas Eve, even when he was on chemotherapy. Survivors include his daughters Richelle McKinley & husband Forrest of OKC, Brandy Kemp & husband Michael of Tuttle, and sister Joyce Gahagan & husband Don of OKC, and 5 grandchildren Josh & Nick Wallace and Morgan, Hayden, & Jacob Kemp. A memorial funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, in the Church of the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church in OKC followed by burial of the cremains with military honors in Ft.
