- Obituary of William Everett Bassett
William Everett Bassett, 71, died at 5:45 a.m. today at City Hospital. He was a retired carpenter. He was born in Hicks on June 11, 1879, the son of James and Mary Bassett and had lived in this community all his life. He was a member of the First Christian Church and the Order of Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maud Bassett, two daughters, Mrs. Edith Wood of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Velma Cate of Little Rock; one son Carlos of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers Ben of Claremore, Oklahoma, Jim and Earl of Fayetteville; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Shook of Fayetteville and Mrs. Jim Fallen of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and four grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements, under the direction of Moor's Funeral Chapel, are incomplete.
