Polly Wolfley-Bass
NEWPORT NEWS - Polly Wolfley-Bass, 80, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2013. She was born in Lebanon, VA on December 23, 1932 and settled in Newport News, VA in later years. Polly was a successful entrepreneur, opening Polly Lowe Personnel in the 60's, which operated for over forty years. During retirement she loved spending time with her family & friends at her home away from home in Lake Gaston, NC.
Left to cherish her memory are, children; Billie J. Gribble (husband) Donnie, Harry J. Grizzle (wife) Janet, Bill Wolfley (wife) Peggy, grandchildren; Chadwick A. Gribble (wife) Mary Beth, Stacie J. Neff (husband) Ryan, Phillip Wolfley & David Wolfley, great grandson; Kameron R. Gribble, two sisters; Linda Harless & Eva Gatscher, and a host of extended family & friends as well as her loyal companion, Ebony (dachshund). Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wolfley, in 1992 and her husband, Clyde Bass, in 2002.
A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Peninsula Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.
