Shirley L. Zeese
1925-2014
Zeese, Shirley L.; age 88; passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, while living at Warwick Living Center in Alma, MI. Following Shirley?s wishes, there will be no Service. Shirley was born September 2, 1925, in Nankin Township, MI, the youngest daughter of Mabel (Chillson) and Floyd Bassett. She married Earl C. Zeese in 1944, in Plymouth Michigan and resided many years in Lincoln Park MI, Port Austin MI, and New Port Richey Fl, before moving to Ithaca MI in 2005. Shirley is survived by her two sons, Craig Zeese of St. Louis MI and Charles (Linda) Zeese of Trenton MI; one granddaughter, Bryony (Christopher) DeRose of Canton MI and two great grandsons, Carter and Brennan DeRose. Shirley is also survived by one sister, Sybil Johnson of Keleva MI. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Earl C. Zeese, who passed in 2006 after 62 years of marriage; one brother, Ora; and four sisters, Iva, Margaret, Ethel, and Vera. Shirley worked in a variety of positions and companies, but her favorite was the reservation department at Innisbrook Resorts in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Music was her avocation and her greatest joy was singing in church and community choirs. In 2005, she realized her life-long dream of publishing a book, ?Henry Ford, Thru the Eyes of a Child?, which described her fond childhood memories of growing up knowing the automotive icon on a personal bases. Shirley?s family would like to thank the past and present employees of Warwick Living Center for providing wonderful care for the past five years.
