Bessette, 68, of Linden Street, a former truck driver, died yesterday in the Jane Brown unit of Rhode Island Hospital after a one-week illness. Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Adhemard J. and Wilda C. (Beaudoin) Bessette, he had lived in Providence for 44 years. Mr. Bessette worked for the Providence Department of Public Works until retiring, in 1980. He leaves two brothers, Ovila Bessette of Pawtucket and Rene A. Bessette of Warwick, and a sister, Antonette A. Collum of Warwick. The funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m. from the Prata Home, 1488 Westminster St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul, Cathedral Square. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket.
