(Bessette) Thurber, 86, of Bowen Street, a homemaker, died Tuesday at Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late William W. Thurber Sr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Aldei and Laura (Boulais) Bessette, she was a lifelong resident of Pawtucket. Mrs. Thurber was a member of the Rhode Island Pigeon Club. She enjoyed reading and going to Foxwoods. She leaves a son, William W. Thurber, Jr. of Deltona, Fla.; three daughters, Elaine M. Conte and Cheryl F. Antaya, both of Pawtucket, and Carole A. Belch of Warwick; her caretaker, Karen Thurber, and a brother, Raymond Bessette, both of Pawtucket; and 9 grandchildren, 12 great-granchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard R. Thurber, and sister of the late Henry and Bertrand Bessette, and Jeannette Berthelette. The funeral service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in William W. Tripp Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
