  Notes	The Virginian-Pilot, Norfolk, Virginia, Monday, 29 October 1990 George W. Bass Jr. George W. Bass Jr., 41, formerly of Portsmouth and an electrical engineer, died Oct. 28, 1990, in a Richmond hospital. Mr. Bass, a native of Portsmouth, was employed at United Engineer Services Corp. He was a 1978 graduate of Virginia Tech and was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Dianne Bain Bass; a son, George W. Bass III of Berwick; his parents, Thelma and George W. Bass Sr. of Portsmouth; and two brothers, Bill Bass and Robert Bass, both of Portsmouth. The graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James Newman. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home and also at 5528 Briarwood Lane, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, 2101 Executive Drive, Norfolk.
