Leon Henry Bessette
LEO HENRY BESSETTE, 90, of Worcester Avenue, a bobbin presser for the former Rhode Island Lace Works, Barrington, for 45 years before retiring in 1972, died Saturday at the Jane Brown building of Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of the late Etta M. (Martin) Bessette.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Abraham and Eve (Jette) Bessette, he lived in East Providence for 84 years.
Mr. Bessette leaves a daughter, Eva B. Wilmot of East Providence; three brothers, Eugene Bessette, Edmund Bessette and Ernest Bessette, all of East Providence; two sisters, Gladys Panzarella of East Providence, and Estelle Coutu of West Warwick; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was a brother of the late Rita Smith, Alfonse Jennette and Loretta Bessette.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket.
