LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF WILLIAM H. BASSETT
In the holy name of God amen.
I William H. Bassett of the township of Oregon in the County of Lapeer and in State of Michigan being of a sound and disposing mind do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament as follows:
First I will and give to each of my children named as follows Andrew Bassett of the City of Lapeer, Melvina Elliott and Hester Lamphierd both of the Towsnhip of Oregon the one fifth part of my property both real and personal Share and Share alike.
Second I will and give to each of my granchlidren named as follows Mary H. Brookins, Sarah M. Wood Arthur W. Ellis and Joel W. Phelps the one Tenth part of my property both real and personal share and share alike and I further will and direct that the shares of property given by this will to
same Arthur Ellis and Joel H. Phelps shall not be given to them or to their guardian until they each arrive at the age of twenty one years and in case either or both of same Arthur W. Ellis and Joel W. Phelps shall die before arriving at the age of twenty one years and leave no living issue then the share to which either one so dieing would be entitled under this will shall be equally divided between my three children Andrew J., Melvina Elliott and Hester Lanphierd.
In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 8th day of January 1880.

We whose names are hereto annexed do hereby certify that the foregoing will was signed in our presence by the testator William H. Bassett who at the same time declared to us that the same was his last will and testament and requested us and each of us to attest the same as subscribing witnesses thereto which we have done at the request of the testator in his presence and in the presence of each other this 8th day of January 1880 and that our residence is set opposite of our respective names.

Probate Order - State of Michigan, County of Lapeer. At a session of the Probate Court in the City of Lapeer on Monday, the 27th day of January in the year 1880.
In the matter of the estate of William H. Bassett deceased, on reading and filing the petition duly verfified of Andrew J. Bassett praying that a certain instrument this day filed in this court, purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of said deceased my be proven and admitted to probate and that administration of said estate may be granted to said petitioner Andrew J. Bassett.
Thereupon it is ordered that Monday, the 23rd day of February 1880 at 10 o'clock in the forenoon be assigned for the hearing of said petition and that the heirs at law of said deceased and all other persons interested in said estate are required to appear at a session of said court then to be holden at the probate office in the city of Lapeer.
