Gertrude B. Bessette
Gertrude B. Bessette, 88, of 369 Montgomery Ave., an inventory control clerk for the Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1966, died Friday at the Elmhurst Extended Care Facility.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Alphonse and Evelina (Bessette) Bessette, she lived in Cranston for many years before returning to Providence eight years ago.
Miss Bessette was a member of St. Paul's Senior Citizens Club, the Park West Association and St. Paul's Women's Club.
She leaves a brother, Raymond B. Bessette of Hollywood, Fla., and a sister, Genevieve M. Murphy of Pawtucket.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Stephen's Chapel, Broad Street, Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston.
