Wilma Bowling Bass
Wilma Bowling Bass passed away from a broken heart on April 7, 2016 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. At the age of 60, she left her earthly body and went home to be with the Lord.
Wilma was born in Oliver Springs, Tenn., on March 22, 1956. She married the love of her life, Warren Bass Jr., on May 26, 1973, at Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Clinton, Tenn.
Wilma retired from Lockheed Martin as a data processor where she was known for being detail-oriented and organized, as well as a very skilled typist.
With all her heart, Wilma loved her husband, children, grandchildren, pets, and frozen cherry Pepsi. Wilma was a lifelong member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She is fondly remembered for how much she loved to sing, and would do so all day long. She was a member of a Christian Vocal group where she would travel to surrounding counties frequently to share her beautiful gift and praise the Lord.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Warren ?Bud? Bass Jr., her parents, Ancil and Helen Bowling, and brothers Theodore ?Teddy? and ?Little Ralph? Bowling.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Shelby Bass Massengale and husband Byron; son, Steven Bass and wife Holley; son, Derrick Bass and wife Katrina; grandchildren, Chandler Massengale, Matthew Bass, Jacob Massengale, Steven Robert Bass, Alysa Massengale, Brylee Bass, Paislee Bass, and Kynlee Bass; siblings, Paulette Buck, Patricia Davies, Glenda Jones, Gary Bowling, Perry Bowling, and Elqueta West; special friend and cousin Pam Robbins; cousins, nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 8 p.m., at Premier Sharp Funeral Home in Oliver Springs. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, at Long Cemetary in Dutch Valley at noon with Rev. Randy Comer officiating. The family requests that donations be made to Premier Sharp Funeral Home on behalf of Wilma Bowling Bass and her family. Premier Sharp Funeral Home is honored to serve the Bass family.
