Phyllis R. Switzer
Phyllis R. Switzer, 84, U.S. 23 North, died at 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at Good Shepherd Home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1922 in Tiffin to Arthur and Florence (Staub) Bassett. She married Richard Switzer on Sept. 25, 941 in Cumberland, Md.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, Fostoria; daughters, Sherry Ann (Jim) Klopp, Burgoon; Danna Jo (Bob) Shonta, Fostoria; nephew, Michael (Gloria) McCrory, Tiffin; three grandchildren, HopeAnn (Matt) Wallace, Robert Allen (Victoria) Kauffman II and Kellee Liegh Shontz; and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Allen Kauffman and Michael Richard Wallace.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl Bassett; and sister, Vivian McCrory.
Mrs. Switzer retired in 1985 as the owner and operator of Switzer's Wholesale Floral Shop in Fostoria. Prior to that, she was the manager of Spiegel's Co., Fostoria. She graduated from Tiffin Columbian High School in 1940.
Mrs. Switzer was a former Campfire advisor and volunteer tutor for the Lowell Elementrary and Fostoria Middle School for more than 20 years.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home with Fr. Nicholas Weible and Rev. Beth Nuehlke officiating. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery.
Visiation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Fostoria Middle School Libraryt or to a charity of the donor's choice.
