April 12, 2007 NEW SMYRNA BEACH - Malcolm Talmadge Bass, 74, of La Linda Drive, an assembly supervisor for Act Corp., DeLand, before his retirement, died Thursday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach. Mr. Bass, an Air Force veteran, was born in New Smyrna Beach and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was a former sergeant with the New Smyrna Beach Police Department in the 1960s and a former security officer for Pan American at Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral. He attended Christ Community Church. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty; two sons, Gary, New Smyrna Beach, and Larry, Edgewater; a brother, Lloyd, Mount Vernon, Wash.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Dudley, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.
