Clyde William Bass
Funeral services for Clyde William Bass, 91, of Lawrence, Kansas was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 27, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with Reverend Virgil Brady officiating. Mr. Bass died Tuesday, October 24, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He moved to Clinton, Kansas, from Humansville in 1953 and later to Lawrence. He was born September 26, 1904, in Jericho Springs, the son of William Franklin and Nancy Elizabeth Brown Bass. Mr. Bass worked for MFA Feed in Humansville and later managed the MFA Grocery Store before moving to Clinton, Kansas. He worked at Sunflower Ordinance from 1953 until he retired in 1960. He was baptized in the Half Way Baptist Church in Half Way. He loved to garden and work with stock cattle. He was married to Oma Jenkins on September 15, 1928, in Bolivar. She died August 2, 1991. He is survived by his daughter, Lora Lee Eberhart of Lawrence, Kansas; one grandchild and two great-granddaughters; several nieces and nephews. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas.
