"Born April 3rd, 1877 at 7:30 a.m. She was 5'2" tall, sparkling brown eyes,
dark brown hair-prematurely grey, pretty face with pleasant expression,
determined chin, small capable hands, movements lively and quick. Had a
sympathetic and forgiving nature, affectionate, very religious, was a good cook.
The Bassett family flaw of bronchitis was hers in early years but she grew out
of it. Sweet soft soprano singing voice, of which her father said "I can't hear you
the other side of my newspaper".
In later years, arthritis and a pinched nerve affected the use of her thumbs.
Emigrated to the United States.
Carrie was married at Boise, Idaho on October 29th 1914 to John William Hodge
who came from Devonport."
