Kermit Williford
Services for Kermit Williford, 80, of Slocomb, who died July 20 were held July 21 in the Ward-Wilson Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Anderson officiated. Burial was in the Memory Hill Cemetery.
A native of Geneva County, he was born in Slocomb where he lived most of his life. He served in the Army during World War II with the 81st Wildcat Division. He was a house painter and was self-employed and owned his own contracting business for the past 25 years.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita of Slocomb; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Robert F. Smith, Dothan, Paul and Jerry Hawkins, Malvern; son, Dwight Douglas Williford, Greenville, S.C.; sisters, Lennie Kelley, Slocomb, Opal Bailey, Graceville, Fla.; brothers, Moody Williford, Geneva, James Williford, California; 2 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
