Lillian W. Dowey
Dowey - Lillian W., 94, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, formerly of Barnesboro, died December 31, 1996 at Saint Thomas Hospital, Akron, Ohio. Born April 2, 1902 in Barnesboro, daughter of John and Eleanor Bassett. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Edward, who died in 1961; and several brothers and sisters. Survived by these children: William, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Jack, Akron, Ohio; and Phyllis Dilks, Rock Ledge, Florida. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Member of Bakerton United Methodist Church, its womens group, church choir and was a Sunday school teacher. Friends were received in Ohio and will be received Sunday from noon until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Bakerton United Methodist Church, the Rev. Thomas Topar. Interment, church cemetery. Long-Contres Funeral Home Inc., Barnesboro, in charge of arrangements.
