Claudette Jones Bass
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS - Claudette Jones Bass, 85, of North Richland Hills, TX (previously of Winston-Salem, NC, Greenville, NC, and Shreveport, LA), passed away on Sunday, November 17th, at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Grapevine, TX. She was born on April 20, 1939, in Centralia, Il, and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Louisiana Tech University. At Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, LA, she worked alongside Dr. Bettina Hilman, a pioneer in Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis research. In 2007, Claudette retired from the Pitt County Health Department in Greenville, NC, as a Medical Technician. She was a Christian and a member of the Knollwood Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 54 years, Dr. Kenneth Ernest Bass, and her parents, Claude Leroy Jones and Abby Stella Richie Jones. She is survived by her four children Kenneth Claude Bass, wife Denise Bass; Kevin Ernest Bass, wife Laura Bass; Kristopher Lee Bass, wife Huntley Bass; and Karen Elizabeth Winbourne, husband Sean Winbourne. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren Clay, Colton, Jeffrey, Abby, Blake, Luke, Evan, Brooks, Harrison, McAlister, and Isles, and one great-grandchild, Gabriel, who were all her greatest joy in life.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23 at the Gazebo at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3771 Yadkinville Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
