Phyllis Bass
BASS--Phyllis, (nee Feldman), passed away peacefully at home on April 12, 2026. Raised in the Bronx, a one-time resident of Great Neck, NY, and longtime Manhattanite, she was 97. Married to Franklin L. Bass (deceased) for 60 years, sister to Donald, mother to Claudia (deceased), Andrea (James) and Jonathan (Tatiana), and grandmother to Thomas, Elizabeth, Francesca, and Nicolas. Phyllis was devoted to family and a wide circle of friends, many life-long. She was a perennial seeker of art and culture and attended thousands of live performances. She loved bridge, travel, fine dining, and a 5 o'clock cocktail. She served as president of the Great Neck League of Women Voters and as president of Camp Isabella Freedman. Elegant and resilient to the end, she was still taking the bus to Carnegie Hall at 97. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
