$35,000 Suit Is Filed In Death
A $35,000 wrongful death suit was filed yesterday in Guilford Superior Court, stemming from an automobile accident near Siler City Jan. 27, 1963.
Odessa Bass, administratrix of estate of Norman Bass, deceased, is asking for $10,000 personal injury damages and $25,000 wrongful death damages against Lewis Henry Whilhite and William Aikens. Both parties to the suit are from Guilford County.
The complaint says Bass was killed when a car in which he was a passenger ran off the shoulder of a highway near Siler City and collided with a tree. Whilhite, according to the suit, was driving the car at the time.
The complaint also contends Bass was left lying at the scene in below-freezing weather for three hours and was not given any medical attention by Wilhite.
