  Notes	Statesville Landmark, August 1900 A Sudden Death Mrs. Bass, wife of Mr. Davidson Bass, died very suddenly at her home in west Statesville Sunday evening about 9 o'clock.Early in the summer Mrs. Bass had an attack of fever but had recovered and had been in her usual health for a month.Sunday evening just after retiring she started to get up to do something for one of the children who was on a pallet by the side of the bed, when she fell forward on her face and died in a few moments from heart disease. The deceased was about 35 years of age and leaves a husband and five little children - the youngest only eight or nine months old. The remains were buried at Perth church yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. A. Helms.
