Man Falls Down Hay Chute
Joseph Bassett of Taberg Hurt Near Waterville
Joseph Bassett, employed by Jesse Lloyd, who resides on the Ira Melvin farm, north of this village, met with a painful accident on Tuesday evening. he was putting fodder down for the cdattle when in some way he slipped and fell down the chute, a distance of 15 feet. He struck on his feet and being a large man, weighing about 180 pounds, his feet were badly injured, particularly his left one. They were so badly swollen and discolored by bruises when the doctor arrived that it was difficult to say whether any bones were broken or not. At any rate the injury will lay him up for some time .his home is in the vicinity of Taberg.
